Listening now to the Saturday Night Safety Dance on Sirius 33. They’re playing “One Night In Bangkok.” It’s sung by Murray Head, from the musical “Chess,” which I’ve never had the pleasure to see. I think I’ve mentioned it before, but every time I hear that song I’m stunned that it’s sung by the same guy who sang the part of Judas in the original cast recording of “Jesus Christ Superstar” (which I have seen on stage, a couple of times). Not sure why that simple fact so rocks my world…
We Love The Stars Too Fondly 
I’ve done Chess – in the chorus of course, but it has some really difficult pieces for Chrous, on a par with Sweeney Todd. But it is to the musical I owe my fantastic knowledge of the names of chess champions.
