From where we were, the Sun was down, but as it sank into the west, the taller mountains to our due east still had some light.
Those peaks are up behind Wrightwood, along the Angeles Crest Highway. It’s Table Mountain, Mount Kare, and Blue Ridge – I think from left to right, but I’m only about 70% sure of the details.
On the other side of the left and center peaks, facing away from us here, are ski resorts, the Mountain High resorts. Many folks are surprised that there’s snow skiing so close to Los Angeles, but with mountains that go up to well beyond 10,000 feet, there’s often skiing until the July 4th weekend.
Tonight it was just a line of shadow creeping up the side of the mountain, proof that the Earth is round if anyone needs it.
